Delphine Dora is an atypical personality. Having accompanied Dana Hilliot twice (" I was a rabbit and i won " (Another Record - 2004) and "Misfit" (Greed Recordings - 2006)), she released a first album of timeless and untamed lullabies, with only piano and voices ("Blablabla" (Abaton Book Company)) in 2006.
A diva of piano improvisation, developing an imaginary and dreamlike language, this time she collaborated with Valérie Leclercq (aka Half Asleep / We are Unique Records) and Jullian Angel (Another Record) to give life to a world of reckless freedom that is populated with influences that are as much baroque and mystic as primitive or concrete.
In autarky and complete isolation for three days of improvisation, they declined a patchwork of heterogeneous and nevertheless complementary atmospheres that will call to mind Max Richter, Charalambides or Animal Collective. Composed and interpreted in a brilliant urgency, the 22 songs of " We're all of this " are as an ode to spontaneity.
Around the piano and the interweaving playfulness of feminine and masculine voices, be they whispered, chanted, shouted, spoken or actually sung, one can also hear traditional instruments, music box, glockenspiel, DIY percussions and bluesy, dry guitars.
Hymns to fragility (" For other places ", " Lovely places "), introspective slam with a charming outmoded flavour (" Free people ", " Puzzle inside "), postmodern cabaret (" Something about the world "), tribal unbridled atmospheres ("Balalaïka song ", "Big mess"), minimalism favourable to confidence (" But love "), vaporous, mysterious and almost threatening atmospheres (" Russian requiem ", " Haunts the place ") …
An improbable journey in a no-man's-land of the inner-self, between resilience and greed, between excess and asceticism, these 22 slices of life, created on the spot, impress by their cunningly deconstructed sobriety and the quality and the freshness of their arrangements, timeless and singular.
