ACTION DEAD MOUSE: "Revenge of Doormats and Coasters" !
The new LP from our beloved Italian friends of the
mighty Action
Dead Mouse is being prepared for a
release in France and Benelux scheduled for late
September 2009. Entitled 'Revenge of
Doormats and Coasters' ,
this new effort carries on in the jagged pathways of " Pets and Nerds attack Planet Earth".
Yet even catchier avant/post-punk/rock hooks n' loops, still based on
instrumental extravaganza, but a few vocal explosions, as well as
beautiful, inspired and majestic strings and brass make their
way onto this amazing new record. Beware, fans of 31 Knots, Redneck Manifesto, Don
Caballero,
Battles or Foals are in for a very serious kick ass session here. Below
are two titles off of "Revenge
of Doormats and Coaters" for you to be amazed at! Enjoy!
"Tom Cruise told me Dan Savio is not dead":
CORNFLAKES HEROES - Dear Mr Painkillers!
The proud follow-up of" Off with your
heads!", titled "Dear Mr Painkillers", is still available .
You want to go to our shop right now because you want to
order this nasty mofo just RIGHT NOW. This second LP comprises twelve
tracks with the notably catchy "Let me be your tamagotchi". You
can also listen to "Sex
on Channel
#4" on the band's Myspace.
You also find choice pieces that they have been playing at gigs for a
quite a few months now, such as "Bloody
Valentine"
ou "Waiting for you".
The overall facetious spirit that was already displayed on "Off with your heads!" is still
right there with punk instants, fun moments and darker, more
introspective songs.
The packaging is a super neat gatefold digipack designed by Gablé. Now go get this disc. You know you really need it.

GUERNICA : "Who Are Your Songs For?"
Guernica's
first mini LP, soberly titled "Who are your
songs for?", is
still available. Imported from Belgium, the
excellent quartet delivers here an ever-so-fresh mixture of avant-rock
and post-punk that is as precious as explosive, which will definitely
soothe the ears of fans of Touch and Go era Blonde Redhead,
Unwound, or closer to our shores Papier Tigre or Berg sans Nipple. Just
a bit less than thirty minutes is well enough for the groop to have us
explore their multi-faceted ubiquity within a coherent-as-fuck set of
six mind-blowing twisters made of interweaving guitars, aerial bass and
evocative, yet head-banging drums with full-on odd time signatures that
you know you love . Next thing you know ,
you are ordering the
beautiful piece of plastic in the mighty SHOP.
Already released last winter on Belgian label VlasVegas, this album is a good opportunity to see the band playing live on a heavy schedule of gigs all around the flat country with no government (cf Myspace for numerous tour dates). Also, two tracks ("I wish i was American" et "Far from sound") are listenable, downloadable and righteously enjoyable on their Myspace. (Don't) believe the hype.
